Friday Favourites
I've decided on making a post every friday, of my 5 favourite health tips! :) HERE WE GO
1. Instead of salad dressing, which can easily make your salad... not so healthy. Use olive oil, lemon, salt&pepper, and some garlic! I actually prefer this over any type of salad dressing! It's so refreshing!

2. For breakfast I like to eat granola, almond milk and grapes. Its a lot healthier for you than a bowl of cereal with milk. The almond milk I use in called Almond Breeze and it is 40 calories per serving! I buy the box of Blue Menu granola from superstore and put purple seedless grapes in it :) It is my FAVOURITE thing to eat! You can also put blueberries or any type of fruit you want in with the granola! I eat it cold :)
3. Sometimes when I'm getting a bit bored of green tea, I will mix green tea & peppermint tea together! It adds such a nice flavour! Not only will you get the benefits of green tea; weight loss, healthier immune system & great skin. But with the peppermint tea, it helps getting rid of headaches, sinus congestion, upset tummies & menstrual cramps. You'll have minty fresh breathe too!
4. Double chocolate protein powder! My favourite protein shake to make consists of; a banana, almond butter, almond milk, flaxseed, and one scoop of protein powder. Put that all in the blender, add some ice to however thick you want it to be, and VOILA! the BEST treat in the world! Protein shakes are great to drink before or after the gym. Sometimes when i'm on the go I will drink of for breakfast. Especially when I have sore muscles from a workout. The powder repairs muscles fast! I use this protein:
5. My FAVOURITE snack in the world is apples and natural peanut butter. I like to use Gala apples because they have the best taste that goes with peanut butter! I use natural peanut butter because it is much healthier and keeps a lot more of the natural fats and proteins in it. Also has less sugar then something like Kraft peanut butter! It is a great power snack. Especially before a workout.
HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS FRIDAYS FAVOURITES :)
XOXO

Run Down? PRE-WORKOUT
I AM SO TIRED! From working 3 jobs, going to school full time, AND making time for working out, by the end of it all I am just so tired! So today I went to whole foods before work and picked up some samples of pre-workout! My boyfriend takes it sometimes before going to boxing just to bring up his energy, so I thought i'd give it a go!
I bought the VEGA lemon lime sample packet, and also the Acai berry one! They were about 3 dollars each. I thought it was smart to try the sample packs before I buy a big jug!
I'll make a post of my opinion on it and let you guys know if I liked it or not!
P.S. I'd love for any feedback on supplements anybody is taking! Let me know! THANKS XOXO

Great Ab Workout
I love this ab workout! It really works with getting rid of that little bottom pouch thing we all have a little bit of! I bought this yoga ball at superstore for 20$! I love their workout gear line! Most of it is pink! :)
I usually do about 15 reps, 3 times. A total of 45! This is a great exercise you can do at home if you don't have time to go to the gym! Make sure to drink lots of water :)
1. First, you want to just flop on top of the ball
2. Walk out on your hands until the ball meets your shins. Make sure your legs stay tight and your toes pointed, or this exercise will not work! Keep your arms shoulder width apart!
3. Fold yourself in half! Push your bum up into the air, keeping your legs as straight as you can! Its very important to push you armpits in the direction of the ball. If you don't, your weight will push you over the opposite way... into a painful summersault! Keep your toes pointed! Hold for about 5 seconds, unfold into position number 2, and repeat :)

Sweet potato muffins
I've recently discovered my new favourite snack... SWEET POTATO WHEAT THINS!!! They are soooo insanely delicious! And quite healthy for you! As I was eating them I was like oh my goodness... sweet potato muffins would be to DIE for! So I went on a hunt for the perfect recipe!! Well... actually I just chose the first healthy one that popped up on google :) BUT STILL! They are so yummy! here is the link to the recipe:
In the recipe, I used 2 eggs instead of the egg replacer, which is used to make them vegan! I also didn't add the cried cranberries because personally I hate dried cranberries, and raisins for that matter...
These are such good power snacks! Either if you're on the go, or even before or after the gym they are great! Sweet potatoes are rich in fibre, vitamins a,b & c, magnesium and potassium!! They are a powerhouse veggie that makes any meal a bit sweeter :)
ENJOY!
P90X AB RIPPER
I just finished the AB RIPPER X workout! I have done something similar just following blogs and what not, but doing it along with the video is WAY different! I could feel it so much more! If your abs are your focus point, I would strongly suggest downloading the video! I downloaded mine through a torrent website which is: http://kat.ph , It's fast and easy and the workout itself is only 15 minutes! And you can do it at home! I tried uploading the video to this post but it won't let me! I will post about the after effects tomorrow... haha! Good luck!

My Motivation
Personally, having a picture of something or someone that motivates me helps me a lot! Especially when I'm debating on eating something that I know is really bad for me, I will just look at the picture and remind myself of my goal! Here's a picture that motivates me:

Where I'm at now
I've just recently come across a picture of me two summers ago. It is crazy how much my body has changed, and I'm very proud of it! This summer was the first time i've been comfortable in a bikini. I will be posting pictures of my fitness journey! And updates. Here is a picture of me two summers ago:
This is a picture of my mom and I. I am on the right.
These are recent pictures of me! I can really notice a difference in my face, shoulders, and stomach!
Energy Bites
These are the best power snacks ever! And very easy to make. And they are a no-bake recipe!
1 cup of dry oatmeal
1/2 cup of almond butter OR peanut butter (I prefer almond butter)
1/3 cup of ground flaxseed
1/3 cup of honey
1/2 cup of shredded coconut
1/3 of dark chocolate chips
Mix them all together and roll them into individual balls. This recipe makes about 15 Energy Bites! These are great to eat after or before the gym. Or even if you need something to tied you over between meals. They taste like cookie dough but they are healthy for you! It's great!

Just do it
I know its cliche, but just think. If you were to start going to the gym, eating healthier, or doing whatever it is you wanted to do, when you said you were going to, imagine where you would be right now! Honestly, the hardest part is getting started. Just put your runners on and go out to the gym! Or run! or do something to get started!
It takes only 2 weeks to get your body into a set schedule. Start today!
