Hungry for change

This is just a clip of the documentary "Hungry for Change." I really encourage you to go and watch it! It really makes you realized the stuff that you are eating. And it is VERY educating. Juicing is so important because of how fast you get the nutrients! After my friends and I watched this we all went and got juicers!

I made my first fresh juice tonight after the gym! 1 apple, 1 cup of kale, 1 cup of spinach, 2 chunks the size of toonies of ginger! WOOOWW IT WAS SO GOOD!

GET JUICIN' :)

Food Tricks

Here are some healthy food recipes that I absolutely love!! :

1. SMOOTHIES!!! some of my all time favourite recipes:

1 whole banana
1 large kale leaf
Some mango slices (add more to make more sweet)
3/4 cup of coconut water

1 whole banana
8 frozen peach slices, or half a large fresh peach
3 raspberries
3 blackberries
1 large kale leaf
3/4 cup of coconut water

"GREEN MACHINE"
Half a banana
Half of a green apple
Half of a kiwi
1 large kale leaf
1/2 cup of spinach
1/2 cup of coconut water

2. Homemade sweet potato fries
For these I like to keep the skin on! It makes for a chewy crispy texture! You can peel it first if you'd like though! Try not to a get a really round or thick sweet potato because they are difficult to cut. Cut it up into wedges or sticks, whatever you'd like, mix them up in a little olive oil so they don't stick to the pan. Put some pepper on them and bake on 400 until they are as crispy as you like them! Such a greta power snack!

3. Flax Seed Oil on salads
On salads I usually like to put olive oil, some lemon juice, pepper and a little garlic. But Ive recently discovered if you use flax seed oil instead of olive oil, it tastes the same but it is a antioxidant that can boost up your metabolism! It is also jam packed full of fibre! so you know what that means...

4. Download a Calorie Counter
The calorie counter is a great little tool. I use it a lot when i'm at a coffee shop or restaurant! It has anything you could ever possibly want to eat. You would be surprised at what has more calories and what has less! It helps me decide on the best thing to eat while going out :) I use MyFitnessPal! It also tracks your diet and encourages you! You can add me and follow my weightloss! alexandriapatricia

5. Plan Greek yogurt & Protein powder
After your workout, take 3/4 cup of greek yogurt and add protein powder of your choice! ITS LIKE PUDDING! my favourite is double chocolate! yummmmmm
